14-Day Digital Detox Evenings
14 days · Mindfulness
No screens after 9pm for two weeks.
Not a full digital exile - just your evenings back. For 14 days, all screens go off at 9pm: no phone, no laptop, no TV. Read, stretch, talk, sleep. Most people report better sleep within four days and are shocked by how long evenings actually are.
The rules
- All recreational screens off from 9pm until morning.
- Phone charges outside the bedroom.
- E-readers without browsers get a pass.
Tips from people who finished
- Set a 8:45pm "last call" alarm to finish conversations and set tomorrow's alarm.
- Put a physical book where the phone used to live.
- Tell your regular late-night texters - silence reads as rude only if unexplained.
Track it properly
The difference between "trying" this challenge and finishing it is usually a visible calendar. Create yours and you get:
- A 14-day calendar you tick off daily - with streaks and completion stats computed live.
- Achievement badges (day 1, 7-day streak, halfway, finisher…).
- A share link so a friend can watch and keep you honest - see the accountability playbook.
- A printable version for the fridge.
